Why Microsoft Outlook Keeps Freezing Up Is Your Worst Enemy?

I found a few articles about some coexistence scenarios. Are you currently trying to migrate to a new version of Exchange by chance? ESET also stands out to me - have you checked there's no scheduled scanning being carried out by eset during this time.

As far as the issue goes, have any of the users mentioned of particular events that trigger it? Such as right when an email is being sent or received or printed?

Almost all employees has multiple PST files. Large PST files anything above 5G-ish have always been problematic, and liable to corruption. Is there a reason you're running with multiple PST files rather than storing the data on the exchange server and limiting the age of cached information? Outlook having to manage the connection to those multiple PST's will cause issues, there's no way round it. NAS storage is also going to be slower, so you've not only got the PST management, but also the network latency to take in to account.

Personally I'd be importing the pst's back in to a mailbox on the exchange server and letting outlook operate as designed. But again, PST s on network drives is not supported or recommend. I get it though, you are in a tough spot. None of the suggestions below may help if there is a hardware limitation here as mentioned above.

You could try condensing PST's just to see if that helps any of the them. It's hard to say what kind of results you may see though. There is also an option to compact PST s in Outlook which would help clean up some of that fragmentation as well but again, I cannot say what kind of results you may see. I don't know right off hand how long this process takes so be careful before trying it on a very large file. You could test on some smaller files to get a baseline of how long it takes.

Another option would be to move all the PST s local again and have a script or scheduled task to make backups of them to the NAS. However, for that to work, everyone would have to close Outlook.

A script could force quit Outlook but that's an ugly way of doing it. Finally, as Kenny mentioned, ,putting the data back into Exchange and ditching the PST s is an option. The description for Event ID from source Mup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The description for Event ID from source mrxsmb cannot be found. The following information was included with the event: Windows - Delayed Write Failed Exception Processing Message 0xca - Unexpected parameters The handle is invalid.

I sounds to me like they may have some corruption. Yes I agree - sorry to say it but the solution IMO is to increase your exchange storage capacity, increase your mailbox limit then pull the PST's back to exchange. How is your exchange server on resources? Any of those with high utilization could cause a condition called exchange back pressure. This rabbit hole keeps on going it seems. What about free disk space, what are your percentages there? Memory usage seems a little high.
